Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is planning to undertake the upgrade of a highway in Idaho, the US.
The project involves the realignment and widening of US-95 south of Moscow to Thorncreek Road. It includes the construction of 10.46km four-lane highway, a pavement, carriageways, culverts, road intersections and related facilities, and the installation of street lights.
In July 2012, the board allocated US$20 million that will be combined with US$20 million previously committed by Congress.
In December 2012, ITD and Federal Highway Administration (FHA) approved a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) in favor of the project.
In August 2015, Idaho transportation officials released the Final Environmental Impact Statement.
In March 21, 2016, ITD received a signed Record of Decision (ROD) from the FHA, authorizing ITD to start purchasing land and begin construction. The project route has been finalized and has received preliminary design approvals from ITD.
ITD is preparing final design plans. The plans are expected to be available for review in the fourth quarter of 2017. ITD is continuing to address a legal challenge to the Environmental Impact Statement and Record of Decision for the project and Right-of-way purchases postponed until a legal decision is made.
