The project involves the construction of a five-star resort comprising 300 rooms on a 1,500ha area. It includes the construction of a residential community comprising 8,000 dwellings, restaurants and bars, a village center, a golf course, a fitness center, an airstrip, meeting rooms, and parking facility, and the refurbishment of the existing 331-room Mercure Capricorn Resort, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.

RPS Australia East Pty Ltd has been appointed as consulting engineer.

In March 2014, ISC received the final terms of reference for the project’s environmental impact statement (EIS).

In April 2014, the project was referred to the Australian Department of Environment to assess any national environmental impacts.

In July 2016, the project was put on hold.

In January 2017, ISC revived the project plans and is preparing Draft Environmental Impact Study (DEIS) report. Subject to the EIS report, ISC will undertake public consultation.
