Indian Oil Corporation(IOC) is planning to build a second-generation ethanol plant in Panipat, Haryana, India.
The project involves the construction of an ethanol plant with a production capacity 40 million liters (35KMTA) per annum of ethanol on 20.2ha of land. It includes the construction of processing units, production units, storage units and control rooms, and the installation of equipment and machinery.
The state government has accepted the investment proposal in May 2017.
On July 10, 2017, IOC and LanzaTech signed a Statement of Intent to construct for the project.
Project is in the early stages of development. Basic engineering works for the demonstration facility for installation is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2017. Construction on the project is expected to commence in 2018 with completion slated for 2020.
