Ivoire Hydro Energy SA (IHE) and Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) are planning to undertake the development of a hydro power plant in Singrobo, Côte d’’Ivoire.
The project involves the construction of a 44MW hydropower plant, a concrete dam of 1400m rockfill embankment, water inlet and outlets and a powerhouse and the installation of turbines, penstocks and transmission lines.
The project is being jointly funded by AFC and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO).
Lahmeyer International GmbH has been appointed as a technical consultant.
The produced power will be sold to Ci-Energies Côte d’Ivoire’s public utility company, under the management of the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Petrol Côte d’Ivoire.
In July 2015, The Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) signed a project joint development agreement with Ivoire Hydro Energy SA (IHE).
A Public Inquiry process for the environmental impact study assessment is underway, and construction is expected to commence by the end of 2017.
The project involves the construction of a 44MW hydro power plant in Singrobo, Côte d’Ivoire.
