Innovation Birmingham Ltd (IBL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed by Birmingham City Council and Thomas Vale Construction, is planning to undertake the construction of Digital Plaza in West Midlands, the UK.
The project involves the construction of four hi-tech buildings on a 11,150m2 area. It will include the construction of an administrative office, a cafeteria and parking facility, and the installation of elevators, security and safety systems.
The first building is known as iCentrum and is planned to be developed with an estimated construction cost of the US$11 million.
The project will be financed through SPV, which could secure the funding for the first building.
In September 2014, detailed planning application for the iCentrumTM building was approved by Birmingham City Council.
In January 2015, construction works on the project commenced.
As of September 2016, the construction of iCentrumTM building is completed. The remaining three buildings of the project are in planning stage.
