Hill Street Realty (HSR), managed by Los Angeles-based HSR Berkeley Investments, is planning to undertake the construction of a mixed-use complex in California, the US.
The project involves an 18-story building with 302 residential units, 975m2 of ground-floor retail and restaurant space, a new six-theater cinema complex and a 171-unit underground parking space.
It includes the construction of a rooftop garden, a fitness facility, a conference center, a community room and other infrastructure related facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.
MVEI Partners Architects, SVA Architects, Inc. were appointed as architects, PGA Design of Oakland as exterior design contractor, Rhoades Planning Group as consultant, and Rincon Consultants Inc. as environmental consultant for the project.
HSR purchased the project site for $20 million in November 2012.
In December 2012, the first application was submitted.
In August 2015, a structural alteration permit was received which needs to carry out excavations on the project site.
On September 30, 2015, the Zoning Board hearing was held for the project.
On December 8, 2015, project secured zoning approvals from the Berkeley City Council.
Planning activities are underway. Construction works are expected to complete by 2021.
