Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) and Health Infrastructure NSW (HINSW) are planning to redevelop a hospital in Inverell, New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the redevelopment of Inverell Hospital. It includes the construction of a new emergency department including emergency care for children and mental health-related presentations, a 34-bed Inpatient Unit, paediatric facilities, new maternity and birthing facilities, general adult services including palliative care, new medical imaging, a new operating theater, a new central sterilizing unit, a day surgery unit, a new main entry, admissions area and a new mortuary.
In June 2016, NSW Government allocated US$1 million funding for the project to the start of planning for the Inverell Health Redevelopment, which includes the development of a Business Case.
In September 2016, HINSW appointed a design team for the project. The design team includes Conrad Gargett as architects, Wilde and Woollard as cost surveyors and APP Corporation as project manager.
In March 2017, the final business case for the Inverell Hospital redevelopment was submitted to the NSW Government, bringing to an end to the first phase of planning for the project.
On June 20, 2017, the project allocated US$23 million funding from NSW Government as a part of NSW State Budget 2017/18. The funding will be released in installments, with the first US$4 million to be released next financial year.
