Helse More og Romsdal HF (HMRH), through hospital building agency Sykehusbygg HF, is planning to build a hospital in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.
The project involves the construction of 80,000m2, 209-bed (170 for general medicine and 39 for psychiatry) hospital. It includes the construction of a 6,000m2 psychiatry area, 5,000m2 out-patients clinic, a patient hotel with 23 beds, parking and related facilities, and the installation eight intensive beds, 14 observation beds, medical equipment, electrical systems, safety and security systems.
The project will be implemented in phases.
In July 2015, HMRH invited tenders for design and engineering contract and 12 companies submitted for architectural services and six in engineering work.
On July 15, 2015, HMRH signed a design contract with Nordic (with subcontractors AART architects and Asplan Viak) and engineering contract with COWI in collaboration with Dr. ing.A. Aas-Jakobsen and Norwegian Geotechnical Institute.
In March 2016, project plans were submitted to Board of Health og Romsdal.
The project awaiting funds, which is expected in 2018 state budget.
Demolition works are expected to commence in January 2018 and the main construction in November 2018 and to be completed by 2021.
