Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is planning to construct an inter-city bus terminal (ICBT) in Telangana, India
The project involves the construction of an ICBT on a 22ha area.
It includes the construction of 200 bus bays for outstation buses and 30 bays for city buses along with 9,290m2 passenger terminals, 200 bus bays/platforms, idle bus parking for 1,000 buses, parking for 2,000 two-wheelers, 100 three-wheelers and 200 four-wheelers.
It also includes the construction of 200 dormitories for commuters and 750 for drivers, a budget hotel, restaurants, five bus service centers, two fuel stations, medical and emergency facilities, shopping centers and driver restrooms.
The project is planned to be implemented on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis under PPP model.
In May 2011, HMDA issued request for proposal (RFP) for the bus terminal.
HMDA shortlisted three bidders including Wadhawan Holdings Pvt. Ltd, KRR Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd and KCP Projects Ltd.
On August 19, 2011, HMDA announced KRR Infra Projects as the preferred bidder and issued LOI. In January 2012, the project received approval from the government.
In the first quarter of 2013, KRR Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd was appointed as DBFOT contractor.
In July 2016, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) approved the project.
In May 2017, land disputes have been cleared.
As of July 2017, Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications are pending and are expected to be cleared by July 31, 2017.
