Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. (HEI) is planning to construct a solar power plant in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 50MW solar power plant on 154ha of land and will be executed in two phases.

The first phase includes the construction of a 20MW solar farm on 68.3ha of land and the second phase includes 30MW solar farm on 85.3ha of land.

The project also includes the construction of a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of solar panels, transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.

Naval Facilities Engineering Command has been appointed as environmental consultant.

In April 2015, HEI released draft environmental assessment.

On July 21, 2016, HEI signed a a partnership agreement with the US Department of the Navy under which HEI will build, own and operate the first phase of the project.
