The High Commission for the Development of the Niger Valley (HCAVN), a public body under the Prime Minister's Office, is planning to undertake the construction of a transmission line between Kanadaji and Niamey in Niger.
The project involves the construction of a 188km high-voltage, double circuit transmission line. It includes the construction of a substation and related infrastructure, and the installation of transformers and control units.
CIMA International has been appointed as the study consultant for the project.
In March 2016, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved US$84 million funding for the project. The remaining US$1 million for the project will be funded by the government of Niger.
