The Guam Museum is undertaking the Hagatna Skinner Plaza Museum Development project at Skinner Plaza, in Hagatna, Guam.
The project involves the construction of museum on a 4,645m2 area. It includes the construction of a three-story facility, an office facility, a lobby, an exhibition hall, a gallery, a cafeteria and the construction of other related facilities.
Laguana & Cristobal has been awarded a US$2 million design contract, RW Armstrong Consulting awarded a US$1.69 million design consulting contract and Maeda Pacific Corp has been appointed as site preparation contractor for the project.
The project has been funded US$27 million by Hotel Occupancy Tax bonds.
On February 6, 2013, groundbreaking ceremony held for the project and in June 2013, Inland Builders Corporation was appointed as EPC contractor for US$15.3 million.
As of February 2015, 46% of construction activities were completed.
As of September 2015, 65% of construction activities were completed.
The Department of Chamorro Affairs is requesting for US$850,000 additional funds for the development of the project.
Construction works are underway and expected to be complete in 2017.
