The Government of Ukraine (GoU) plans to build a wind farm with a total capacity of 500MW in Zaporozhye, Ukraine.
The project involves the construction of turbine bases, substations, power-houses, and the installation of 62 turbines and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase and the second phase involves the construction of wind farm with a total installed capacity of 225MW and 275MW respectively.
In December 2017, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) approved a loan amount of US$150 million for the project. Apollo Global Management LLC will provide a loan of US$236 million for the project. LongWing Energy SCA will also invest US$100 million for the project implementation.
General Electrics has been appointed as the supplier for the turbines.
EuroCape New Energy has been appointed as the designer for the project.
Design activities are underway.
