The Government of Pakistan (GoP) and the Government of China (GoC) are planning to undertake the coal-fired power plant in Punjab, Pakistan.
The project includes the construction of a 1,320MW coal-fired power plant. The project involves the construction of two units with a capacity of 660MW each.
It includes the construction of a substation, a powerhouse, a control room, gas storage tanks and related infrastructure, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
In March 2014, MoWP signed an agreement with GoC in order to jointly develop the plant.
On August 7, 2014, the GoC approved the project.
