The project involves the construction of 557,418m2 distribution and logistics space on 81ha of land. It includes the construction of warehouses, a country park, a playing field, a logistics academy, distribution centers, parking and related facilities.

It also includes construction of 9,290m2 of space for small businesses and additional capacity for a logistics institute of technology.

In January 2015, Gazeley has conducted a public exhibition for project proposals.

Gazeley has submitted a planning application to Leicestershire County Council and the planning committee is yet to decide on the project proposal.

Three proposals kept by Gazeley before Leicestershire County Council for the approval. First, is associated with the expansion of 100,844m2 site area, and second and third with the expansion of 550,000m2 site area.

On January 28, 2016, Gazeley secured approval for first of three proposals.

May 2016, revised plans are filed for Magna Park expansion.

In June 2016, Harborough District Council (HDC) is reconsidering the planning application relating to proposals for the Magna Park expansion.

On January 11, 2018, the city council rejected the planning application due to concerns over the environment.
