On January 11, 2017, GWDC presented the project plans to the Waukegan Economic Development Advisory Board (WEDAB) and requested them to recommend City Council's approval of a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district that will cover 35 percent of the project cost. A planning approval from the City Council is expected to take six to nine months.
