Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) is planning to construct a synergy center in Ontario, Canada.
The project involves the construction of an 11,798m2 convention and performing arts center.
The project includes the construction of a US$65 million convention hall with a seating capacity of 700 people, 700–1,999 seats for a performing arts center, US$25 million privately financed hotel, 1393m2 to 23,22m2 of mixed-use commercial development, a parking garage and related facilities.
GSDC established a Steering Committee for the project.
In the third quarter of 2012, the Steering Committee invited companies to conduct feasibility study.
In April 2013, the Steering Committee initiated a feasibility study and engaged the firms ArtExpert and Sceno Plus Inc. to provide architectural concept design including infrastructure and technical requirements and costs for the project.
GSDC is seeking for US$12 million contributions from each of the City of Greater Sudbury, the Ontario Government, the Canadian federal government and about US$4 million from the private sector funding.
In August 2016, Paul Finley has been selected as project manager . Venue Management (formerly Global Spectrum), CBRE and PRK Consulting has been selected for feasibility study and financing of the project.
