GMR Infrastructure Ltd (GMR) is planning to construct the Lalpur coal-based power plant project in Madhya Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of 1,320MW power plant on 283ha of land which will be developed in two units of 660MW each.
The project includes the construction of access roads, chimneys, coal handling units and ash handling units, the setting up of mechanical auxiliary systems, the installation of turbines, generator, steam generators, control systems, electrical systems, power evacuation systems and cooling water system and the laying of transmission lines.
Out of 283ha project area, 66ha is under the state government.
GMR has received forest clearance for the first stage for 66ha of revenue forest land.
Coal requirement of 4.72 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) will be met through imports from Indonesia, Kuansinglnti Makmur (KIM) Coal mines and PT Borneo Indobara (BIB) Coal mines.
Doosan Corporation has been appointed as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.
