General Directorate of Roads (GDR) is undertaking the Sakoinse-Boromo RN1 Highway Renovation project in Ouagadougou, Kadiogo, Burkina Faso, Africa.
The project involves reconstruction and renovation of 121.9km Sakoinse-Boromo section of the CU 2a community road with three roundabouts, crossroads and initial sections giving access to the adjacent roads, 22 car parks on both sides of the road near village locations and auxiliary lanes in the Boromo through route.
On March 24, 2011, the tender was issued for the EPC Contractor with June 29, 2011, as the submission deadline; further, the submission deadline was extended to August 10, 2011. Again on October 30, 2011, the deadline was extended to November 29, 2011, and was further extended several times and on April 24, 2012, the latest submission deadline was set as June 27, 2012.
Construction activities are underway and expected to complete by the end of 2017.
The project involves the reconstruction of 121.9km Sakoinse-Boromo RN1 Highway at Ouagadougou city, in Kadiogo province of Burkina Faso, Africa.
The US$80 million project also includes the following:
1. Construction of 3 roundabouts, crossroads and initial sections
2. Construction of 22 car parks on both sides of the road
3. Installation of road signs and application of road markings
