Gateway Development/East Lyme, LLC (GDEL), a joint venture between KGI Properties and Simon Konover Company, is planning to undertake the construction of a mixed-use facility in Connecticut, the US.

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use facility on an 80.93ha of land.

It includes the construction of 280 residential units in 10 building blocks each holding 28 units, 39,483.8m2 of retail space including a 13,006.4m2 anchor store and up to five smaller "junior anchor" stores, 557.41m2 clubhouse, outdoor pool and other related facilities. It also includes construction of 13,006m2 costco and gas station.

BL Companies has been appointed as architect, TCORS as legal advisor, and Natural Resources Services, Fairbanks Engineering Corp, David Green & Associates as consultants.

GDEL submitted a revised site plan for the project in June 2013.

The project secured approvals for the residential component in December 2013.

In the first quarter of 2014, construction works on residential apartments commenced.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on clubhouse on June 25, 2014.

In July 2014, planning consultations for the commercial component were held.

As of September 2015, construction works on 280 apartments in 10 building blocks were completed. No final plans have been submitted yet for the commercial portion of the development.

In October 2015, GDEL submitted plans to Planning Commission for the addition of 120 residential units to existing 280 residential units.

The Planning Commission of Town of East Lyme is reviving GDEL's proposal to build 120 residential units to the existing 280 units.

As of August 2017, the commercial component is awaiting approvals.


The project involves the construction of a mixed-use facility on an 80.93ha of land in East Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, the US.
