The project involves the construction of a 2043,866m2 LCD manufacturing facility.
It includes the construction of 139,354m2 three buildings, production units, an office space, warehouses, testing units and related infrastructure, and the installation of machinery and equipment, safety and security systems.
In July 2017, Foxconn selected Wisconsin as the location for the project.
On September 18, 2017, Foxconn secured a US$3,000 million incentive package from the State of Wisconsin for the project.
On October 4, 2017, Foxconn decides Mount Pleasant as the precise location for the plant. The main plant will be bordered by Interstate 94, Braun Road, Highway H and Highway KR, on the southern border of Racine County in Mount Pleasant.
On November 10, 2017, Foxconn signed an investment contract with the WEDC.
Under the deal, the Wisconsin government will provide a US$2,850 million incentive package if Foxconn invests in constructing a factory and campus near Racine. To get the full benefit, the technology firm would have to hire 13,000 local workers.
Foxconn is in negotiations with Gilbane Building Co to award the construction contract.
