Fox Petroleum Ltd (Fox Petroleum) is undertaking the construction of a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) and a LNG Terminal in Karnataka, India.
The project involves the construction of a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) with a capacity of 1 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas per day and a LNG storage terminal. It includes the construction of an onshore liquefaction plant, 330,000m3 gas storage tanks, laying of pipelines, the installation of equipment.
The total cost constructing the FSRU is estimated as US$563 million, while the onshore plant is projected to cost US$495 million.
Fox Consultancy Services, a subsidiary of Fox Petroleum group undertaken the FEED works for the project.
In April 2016, Fox Petroleum signed a MoU with The Government of Karnataka. Under the MoU The Government of Karnataka will provide the requisite support for implementation of the above project in the State.
In December 2016, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) was awarded a engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for FSRU facility.
Construction works on the FSRU are underway and are slated to be completed by 2018, while the entire project is expected to be completed by 2020.
