The Office of Facility Planning and Control (FPC) on behalf of the state government is planning to redevelop the vacant Charity Hospital site in New Orleans, Louisiana, the US.

The Matthews Southwest Proposal: A US$232 million renovation that will include 585 apartments, extended stay hotel, health care office space and retail. The project team includes Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, Manning Architects, Waggonner & Ball Architects, Enhanced Capital and developer Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corp.
The HRI Properties Proposal: A US$194 million redevelopment set to include 459 affordable and luxury apartments, a state of the art 23,783.2m2 medical research facility, 910.45m2 of retail, and a 1858.06m2 day care center. Their team includes Woodward Design+Build and design group Ewing Cole.
The CHR Partners Proposal: a US$245 million renovation after purchasing the property from the State for $30 million. CHR has proposed building 600 apartments, housing for medical students; an extended stay hotel; 6,503.21m2 biomedical training facility; 5,574.1m2 of retail space and parking. The team also includes New Orleans developer Joseph Stebbins of CCNO Development, John C. Williams and the Michael Lee Studio; the McDonnel Group, TKTMJ Inc. and the MCC Group; consultant Wade Ragas.
Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center has been appointed as demolition contractor.
In January 2016, state government planned to scrap the redevelopment plans. However, in March 2016, the state government initiated the process of seeking consultants to review options to redevelop the site.
In January 2017, demolition activities commenced and are underway.
