Summary

Total S.A. (FP), Petropars Ltd (Petropars), a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) are planning to undertake the development of eleventh phase of the South Pars gas field in Bushehr Province, Iran.

The project involves the development of gas field with a gas production capacity of 56.6 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d), the extraction of 53.8 mcm/d sour gas to feed LNG Plant and the production of 80,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) of heavy gas condensates. It will be developed in two phases namely Phase 11A and Phase 11B.

Phase 11A includes the drilling of 12 wells for the gas production of 28.3 mcm/d, construction of a 32-inch, 136km-long sea line. Once operational. The gas produced from Phase 11A will be transferred to Phase 12 refinery.

Phase 11B includes the drilling of 12 wells for the gas production of 28.3 mcm/d, construction of a 32-inch, 136km-long sea line. Once operational. the gas produced from Phase 11A will be transferred to Phase 8 refinery.

The project also includes the construction of a steel jacket, an offshore platform, a three-phase test separator for testing the wells, two three-phase separators for water separation, a water treatment unit, two 4.5-inch sea lines for transferring glycol solution to the offshore platforms, a 36-inch gas condensate transfer pipeline, a 4.5km-long Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) to load and export the produced condensates, a gas condensate storage unit, a mono ethylene glycol regeneration unit, a firefighting water system, control rooms, electricity substations, a laboratory, a warehouse, a workshop, offices.

In November 2016, FP, CNPC and Petropars signed a Heads of Agreement (HOA) with NIOC for the project development.

In July 2017, FP, CNPC and Petropars signed a 20-year agreement with Ministry of Petroleum, Iran for the development and production of the project.

FP, CNPC and Petropars are in the process of issuing tenders for the project and the contracts are expected to be awarded by the fourth quarter of 2017. Construction work is expected to be completed by 2021.
