Summary

Era resource (Era) formerly known as Marengo Mining Ltd (MGO) is planning for the development of a slurry pipeline project in Madang Province, Papua New Guinea.

The project involves the construction of a 109km copper concentrated slurry pipeline with a diameter of 200mm from Yandera mine site to the port of Madang. It includes the construction of a 104km tailing pipeline, pumping stations, a pellet plant and a filtration plant.

The project also includes the construction of ancillary buildings, access roads, the installation of metering station, safety and security systems and the construction of other infrastructure related facilities.

In October 2010, Era entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd (NFC) for financing, construction and development of the project.

A consortium of China Nonferrous Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd and Arccon (WA) Pty Ltd have been appointed as study consultants for undertaking the definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the project.

In September 2011, Petromin PNG Holdings Ltd (Petromin) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Eda Kopa (Yandera) Ltd entered into Yandera project investment and co-operation agreement with the company, to acquire 30% interest in the project once the DFS has been completed.

On May 30, 2012, Minerals Industry Consultants, Ravensgate updated JORC and Canadian National Instrument 43-101 compliant resource estimate.

MGO is planning to enter into a construction agreement (engineering, procurement and construction) contract with NFC. Under the agreement Marengo will appoint NFC as the principal contractor under a turnkey, lump-sum contract.

On June 19, 2015, Era filed the technical report.

In April 2016, the infill drilling program commenced.

Era appointed Titeline Drilling (PNG) Ltd as drilling contractor and Advisian for scoping and optimization study.

As of May 2016, drilling and scoping and optimization study is anticipated to complete by end of third quarter of 2016.

The outcome of the study will form the base case for further refinement through pre-feasibility and feasibility study phases.

As of April 2017, ERA Resources hopes an agreement with China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co Ltd (NFC) will enhance development plans. The parties are negotiating final terms of NFC’s appointment to the team of project consultants that will assist Era with pre-feasibility and feasibility studies.

Study activities are underway and expected to be complete by 2018. Construction is expected to commence in 2019.
