ENEVA S.A., a company formed by joint venture of MPX Energia S.A and E.ON and Copelmi Mineração Ltd (CML) is undertaking the development of a 600MW Seival Coal Fired Power Plant in Candiota, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The project will include the construction of a power generation unit, storage rooms, boilers, substations and the installation of turbines, generators, switch yards and transmission lines.
The fluidized bed technology will be used as they surpass the Brazilian requirements for the particulate of matter, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.
In November 2010, MPX/CML acquired the power plant project from Tractebel Energia SA.
The project was failed to get selected in A5 power auction organized by Federal Government of Brazil in August 2013.
Eneva participated the coal thermal power energy auction conducted by Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (ANEEL) on November 28, 2014, however, did not win the auction.
Eneva has shown interest to participate in the energy auction again on April 30, 2015.
