Energa Invest SA, a subsidiary of ENERGA SA (Energa) is planning to undertake the construction of a hydropower plant in Siarzewo, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland.
The project involves the construction of a 80MW hydropower plant. It includes the construction of a power house, access roads and substations, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, the laying of transmission lines.
In 2010, study works commenced comprising a detailed inventory of natural valley of the Vistula.
In June 2012, a suitable location was identified, on Vistula Riverat Siarzewo, a village in the administrative district of GminaRaciazek, within Aleksandrów County.
On February 26, 2015, Energa and the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection (RDOS) signed an agreement based on the environment impact assessment report and Energa submitted an application to RDOS for receiving permission to build the dam.
On January 28, 2016, RDOS rejected the application due to environmental issues.
In April 2016, the General Director for Environmental Protection overturned the decision of RDOS and asked for further review of the proposal.
On April 24, 2017, a Scientific and Technical Conference was held on the issues related to the construction of the project.
Energa is seeking a funding partner and regulatory approvals for the project.
Subject to approvals, construction is commence in 2018 and be completed in 2027.
