Emaar Properties (Emaar) is undertaking the construction of a residential tower in The Opera District, Dubai, the UAE.
The project involves the construction of a 66-storey residential tower comprising 249 apartments in 56 floors, two- the story of residential amenities, two-story of cafes, restaurants and shops outlets and a grand entrance lobby at the lower level. The tower also includes the construction of a fitness center, a rooftop pool, and retail, parking and related facilities, and the installation of elevators and safety and security systems.
International Foundation Group has been appointed as an enabling contractor, Khatib & Alami as the consultant, and WME consultants to provide structural, building services, fire, acoustic and vertical transport engineering services for the project.
DP Architects has been appointed as architect for the project.
On December 6, 2015, Emaar invited bids from interested bidders for the construction with February 7, 2016, as submission deadline. Later, the deadline was extended up to March 15, 2016.
Al Basti & Mukhta LLC, Trojan General Contracting, Al Shafar General Contracting, TAV Construction and Consolidated Contractors Company, have emerged as prequalified bidders.
On July 4, 2016, Emaar awarded a US$136 million construction contract to Consolidated Contractors Company.
Construction activities are underway and expected to be completed by January 2019.
