Emaar Middle East (Emaar) is undertaking the development of Bay La Sun Village in Saudi Arabia.
The project involves the construction of mixed-use facilities including Marina Towers, Beach Towers, View Business Park, Bay La Sun Hotel and the Marina canal with provisions for berthing yachts and pleasure crafts and Juman Park.
It also includes the construction of 16 residential towers, 1,000 apartments, parking space for 1,700 cars, 15,000m2 of retail space, schools, a central shopping center, Al-Sharbatly Mosque, banks, gas stations, clinics and office buildings, and the development of public parks and landscaped green areas.
Solaiman Abdullah Elkhereiji Consultants (SAK) and Turner Construction Company have been appointed as consulting engineers, Saudi Building & Construction Management as lead consultant, and Egyptian Engineering Group for Consultancy as design consultant for the residential component.
Hosam Alabdulkarim has been appointed as design consultant for the Bay La Office Business Park.
Al Taafuf (formally Saudi Trading and Services International Company Ltd) has been appointed as construction contractor for the Bay La Sun Business Park.
Saudi Binladin Group (SBG) has been appointed as EPC contractor for 16 residential towers, AlNahla Group as contractor for Al-Sharbatly Mosque and the remaining will be undertaken by Saudi Oger and Rodeo Construction.
In October 2011, construction works on Al-Sharbatly Mosque were completed.
In June 2012, construction works on the Beach 1 and Beach 2 Towers were completed.
On March 30, 2014, construction works on Marina Tower 4 was completed.
On April 22, 2014, New Job Contractors Establishment was awarded US$12 million contract for the development and landscaping of Juman Park and construction of the adjacent canal promenade.
On September 27, 2014, construction works on Marina Tower 2 were completed.
In first quarter of 2016, construction works on Office park and Bay La SunHotel & Marina are underway. Construction works on remaining scope of the project are underway.
