Multiconsult has undertaken the feasibility study to assess the hydropower potential at the Ngonye Falls site.
On December 8, 2015, the Western Power Company Ltd signed an implementation agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Water Development for the project development.
On January 22, 2016, EleQtra issued tenders for the project development with February 26, 2016, as the submission date.
EleQtra is in the process of signing an independent power producer (IPP) contract with the national power utility, ZESCO.
