Ekovest Berhad (Ekovest) is planning to construct the EkoGateway project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use development on a 5.8ha of land comprising eight high-rise buildings developed in two parcels.
The parcel one includes the construction of a 92,903m2, 5-storey shopping mall, a 27-storey building comprising 300 units, two 36-storey comprising 554 units of serviced residences, a 42-storey building comprising 320 units serviced residences and a 42-storey tower with a hotel and office units. Parcel two includes construction of two 42-storey buildings with 640 units of high-end serviced residences on top of the 3-storey retail units.
It also includes construction of open spaces, pocket gardens and entrance plazas.
Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) has been appointed as the quantity surveyor and Arkitek KDI Sdn Bhd (KDI) as architect for the project.
In June 2014, Ekovest entered into a facilitation fund agreement with the Government of Malaysia and Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd to receive US$37m in the grant for the project. The grant will be disbursed on the completion of the project.
Ekovest in-house division will undertake the construction works on the project.
In December 2015, Ekovest acquired the project site.
The project is awaiting final approvals from the city council.
