Evolution Mining (EVN) is planning to undertake the Castle Hill Gold Mine Development project in Western Australia.
The project involves the construction of a gold processing plant (Carbon in Leach) with the capacity of 2mtpa, heap leach pads and associated infrastructure.
It includes the relocation, refurbishment and recommissioning of the St Ives heap leach facility, the construction of tailings storage facility, administration building, workshop, store facility, reagents and fuel storage areas and water storage facilities.
In 2012, Phoenix entered into an agreement with Norton Gold Fields to prepare separate feasibility studies for the project.
In November 2013, Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) on the project was completed.
On February 10, 2014, detail feasibility study (DFS) on the project was completed.
The study has been completed by independent consultants, including Cube Consulting and Quantitative Group (geological modeling and Resource estimation); Golder Associates (Reserve estimation); Veritas Metallica (feasibility management and technical oversight); Como Engineering (HL process plant relocation and commissioning to +/- 15%); Worley Parsons (pad design and associated infrastructure); Independent Metallurgical Operations (heap leach metallurgical test work); Mintrex and Cardno BEC and Rockwater for energy and hydrology respectively.
On July 11, 2014, Phoenix purchased a stand-alone 2.3Mtpa heap leach facility from Gold Fields Ltd St Ives for US$2 million.
In December 2015, EVN acquired Phoenix Gold along with Castle Hill project.
Planning activities are underway.
