Eridania Sadam (ES) and Kenana Sugar Company Ltd (KSCL) joint venture is planning to undertake the construction of a sugar refinery in Sudan.
The project involves the construction of a sugar refinery with a capacity to produce 500,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of sugar with a scope of further extension to 1000,000 tons per year.
It includes the construction of a warehouse, storage tanks, and parking space and related facilities, and the installation of fire safety systems.
It will be funded by Preferential Trade Area Bank (PTA), Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah and other local banks.
In 2012, Sadam Engineering, a subsidiary of ES, has produced basic engineering report and conducted feasibility study.
Dr. Adam & Associates has been appointed as legal advisor and Kenana engineering and technical services(KETS) as the project engineer and manager for the project.
ES will build and operate the sugar refinery plant.
