Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS) is planning to build a wind farm in Berkovici, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project involves the construction of a 48MW wind farm. It includes the construction of a substation, access roads and related infrastructure, the installation of 16 turbines of 3MW each and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
On September 28, 2015, ERS signed a concession agreement with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, Republic of Srpska, to build and operate the project.
In October 2016, KfW provided US$67 million loan with tenure of 228 months for the project development.
A wind study has been performed by COWI A/S.
Planning activities are underway. Construction activities are expected to start in 2017 and complete by 2020.
