The project involves the construction of a 550MW open cycle gas-fired power plant and an 80km high-pressure underground gas pipeline.

The project includes the construction of a gas storage facility, combustion chambers, gas storage tanks, a water treatment plant, a switch gear and a cooling tower, the installation of chimneys, turbines and heat recovery steam generators and the laying of transmission lines.

In September 2009, the McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd was appointed as the ECI contractor on the gas pipeline and in May 2012, the project was approved by Government of Queensland.

Scope

The project involves construction of a 550MW open cycle gas-fired power plant and an 80km high pressure underground gas pipeline at 40km southwest of Dalby in Queensland, Australia.

The US$556 million project includes the following:

2. Construction of a switch gear and a cooling tower

3. Construction of a gas storage facility

4. Construction of combustion chambers

5. Construction of a water treatment plant

6. Installation of generators

7. Installation of gas turbines

8. Installation of heat recovery steam generators
