Enel Green Power SPA (EGPW), Khana and Garob community Trust (GCT) are planning to build a wind farm in Northern Cape, South Africa.
The project involves the construction of a 138MW wind farm on 5.5ha land. It includes the construction of a substation, access roads and related infrastructure, the installation of 46 wind turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
On August 18, 2014, tender was submitted by EGPW, Khana and GCT in the fourth Round of REIPPPP.
In June 2015, EGPW, Khana and GCT secured the project under the fourth round of South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). Under the terms, EGPW now has the right to enter into 20-year power-purchase agreement (PPA) with Eskom.
