EDF Renewable Energy, Inc. (EDFRE) is undertaking the construction of the Riverside Desert Harvest Solar Farm in California, the US.
The project involves the construction of 186MWp/150MW solar farm on 486ha of land. It includes the construction of an administration building, a powerhouse, water storage tanks, main control rooms, and the installation of solar panels, safety systems, and transformers, and the laying of a 220kv transmission line from the site to Southern California Edison's Red Bluff substation.
In March 2013, EDFRE secured approval from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Environmental Impact Study and the public use permit received in the second quarter of 2014 and on August 24, 2014, the project was placed on hold due to environmental issues.
In October 2015, BLM submitted a report for the one-year extension of the proposal.
On December 15, 2016, EDF and Marin Clean Energy (MCE) signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
In January 2017, project plans were submitted to the planning commission.
Subject to approvals the construction works are scheduled to commence in 2018 and complete in 2020.
