EDF Renewable Energy (EDF) is planning to undertake the construction of a Stoneray Wind Farm project in Minnesota, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 62-turbine, 105MW wind farm on 16,592ha of land. It will include the construction of a powerhouse and a substation, the laying of transmission lines, and the installation of wind turbines, generators.

Stoneray Power Partners LLC a subsidiary of EDF also involved in the project development.

In March 2013, EDF filed an application for a Certificate of Need (“CON”) to Minnesota Public Utilities Commission to construct and operate the project and got the approval for site permit and CON in May 2014 and the site permit contemplates four turbine models: GE 1.7MW-100, Vestas V110 2MW, Siemens SWT-2.3MW-108 and Siemens SWT-3.2MW-113.However the decision is yet to be taken.

In April 2013, EDF submitted planning application to the US Department of Energy (DOE) and received approval in April 2014.

In May 2016, EDF requested State Public Utilities Commission of Minnesota (SPUCM) to extend the time for the construction of power plant and for securing power purchase agreement (PPA) and in July 2016, DOE approved the EDF's request to extend the deadline to mid-2018 for PPA and start construction.

On October 13, 2016, The Midcontinent Independent System Operator filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a Generator Interconnection Agreement with Stoneray Power Partners LLC for not exceeding the 100 MW upon completion of all network upgrades.'

In December 2016, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved interconnect deal for the project.

In June 2017, EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) was signed an agreement to supply Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA)

Construction is expected to commence in early 2018 and expected to complete by 2020.
