Energy Development Corporation (EDC) and Alterra Power Corp. (AXY) are planning to construct the Mariposa Geothermal Plant in Maule, Chile.
The project involves the construction of a geothermal plant with a generation capacity of 100MW, pipelines network, internal roads, ancillary works, a substation and a switch yard, the installation of turbines and generators, injection well, and the laying of transmission lines.
An in-house division of EDC will be responsible for construction activities.
In Q1 2013, EDC signed a joint venture agreement with AXY to develop the project.
The project was put on hold in between due to the fall in crude oil prices.
