Eagle Crest Energy Company (ECE) is planning to undertake a hydroelectric power plant in Riverside County, California, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 1,300MW hydroelectric power plant. It includes the construction of two roller-compacted concrete dams, a substation, an underground powerhouse with four reversible pump-turbines of 325MW each, access roads, and related infrastructure, the installation of two reversible pump-turbines and transformers, and the laying of 18-kV underground transmission cables.

GEI Consultants has been appointed as consultant.

In June 2009, the ECE filed for an application for a license for the development.

On December 23, 2010, a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) was prepared and issued.

In January 2012, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a final EIS.

The FERC issued a license for the construction of the project in June 2014.

In July 2015, ECE has agreed to buy the Kaiser Eagle Mountain mine site near Desert Center.

In November 2016, NextEra Energy Resources, LLC was appointed as associated developer.
