The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DoTMR) is planning to upgrade the Warrego Highway road section between Cecil Plains Road and Orpen Street in Dalby, Queensland, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a new four lane road section between Cecil Plains Road and Orpen Street. It includes the construction of service roads, toll roads, an overpass, additional turning lanes and related infrastructure, the upgrade of existing four-lane section between Orpen Street and Moonie Highway, and the installation of signaling systems.
On May 5, 2015, Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) received a letter from the Western Downs regional (WDR) community members opposing the project plans, where DoTMR responded to the opposition raised from regional community members to conduct a detail design study for the project.
Study activities were completed by the third quarter of 2015.
In August 2016, Chris Buckley Plumbing was awarded the contract for relocation of gas and water reticulation.
On December 20, 2016, DoTMR issued tenders for the appointment of a contractor with the bid submission date as February 22, 2017.
Subject to selection of a contractor, construction is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2017 and be completed by the fourth quarter of 2018.
