DTA Engenharia is planning to undertake the construction of a Marica Port of Pre sal development at Praia de Jacone, Marica, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The project involves the construction of liquid and gas storage terminal to support the transportation of petrol and gas of COMPREJ refinery of Petrobras and other foreign oil development companies in pre-sal.
The port facility will have the capacity to handle the transportation of 850,000 barrels of oil per day. The port facility will have offshore support yard which includes big yards to repair and maintenance offshore vessels in the port facility.
The project also includes the construction of the offshore logistic terminal to provide logistic support for offshore vessels for pre-sal, an administrative building, and the spare area.
Arcadis Logos is appointed as study consultant.
The developer has contracted Vinci Partners for the preparation of financial structure of the project.
In April 2014, DTA Engenharia submitted the feasibility study documents to Instituto Estadual do Ambiente (Inea) for implementing the project.
In July 2015, Instituto Estadual do Ambiente (Inea) released the preliminary license for the project.
In August 2016, construction works commenced and in November 2016, the court suspended the license and released the order to stop the construction works.
The project is facing delays due to some judiciary issues on environmental licensing and the developers are in discussions with the state government to develop the skilled labor for the deployment and maintenance of the port in the future.
