The National Directorate of Rural Engineering , (Direction Nationale du Génie Rural) (DNGR) is planning to build a hydroelectric power plant in Guinea.

The project involves the construction of a 90MW hydroelectric power plant. The project will include the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and a 42m dam, the installation of turbines and generators, the laying of 800km transmission lines and other related facilities.

In March 17, 2011, DNGR invited bids to update a feasibility study and to perform the design and tender preparation for the project with bid submission on March 28, 2011 and DNGR again invited bids in October 2013 with bid submission on October 23, 2013.

Yellow River Engineering Consulting Company had been appointed as study consultant of the project.

In June 2017, Feasibility study got completed and have been submitted to the Ministry of Mines and Geology.

Other study activities are underway.
