Devon NEC Corporation (DNECC), a subsidiary of Devon Energy Corp (DVN) and BP Canada Energy (BP) as a joint venture, is planning to undertake the construction of pike 1 oil sands project in Alberta, Canada.
The project involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 105,000 barrels per day (bpd) of bitumen in three phases of 1A, 1B and 1C. Each phase of the development will include facilities to produce 35,000bpd of bitumen.
The project will include a central processing facility (CPF) in multiple phases, well pads, source water and disposal well sites, pipelines, roads, power lines, bitumen processing facility and other related infrastructure.
DVN and BP concluded an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the project and submitted to Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (AENV) and Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB).
In 2012, DVN and BP submitted a planning application to the federal regulatory authorities (FRA).
In November 2014, DNECC and BP Secured regulatory approval from Alberta authorities for the development of Pike 1A.
Design activities are underway and DNECC and BP are awaiting for FID.Scope
