Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) is undertaking the construction of Burj 2020 Commercial Tower project in Dubai, the UAE.
The project involves the construction of a 115-story, 700m commercial tower. It will include the construction of 60-degree observation deck on the topmost floor, office space, retail space, commercial space, parking slots and other related facilities. The detailed scope of the project is yet to be revealed.
DMCC issued tenders for appointing the project manager in December 2013 and the specialized firms to participate in master plan design competition in the first quarter of 2014.
In June 2014, DMCC short-listed four global firms to design the master plan of the proposed project. The master plan will also address transport methods and traffic flow issues.
In September 2014, Turner International Middle East was appointed as the project management consultant. In late 2014, shortlisted architecture-engineering teams were interviewed.
Cluttons has been appointed as quantity surveyor.
On June 16, 2015, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture was appointed as an architect, along with WATG as the master planner.
Detailed design activities are underway.
