The project involves the construction of an integrated sugar complex on 28ha of land. It includes the construction of a distillery with a capacity of 30-kilo liter per day (KLPD), 2MW incidental power generation, the expansion of existing sugar mill capacity from 2,500 to 7500 tonnes sugar cane crushed per day (TCD) and co-generation power plant from 4.5MW to 25MW.
On September 17, 2016, DBSIL submitted the project proposals seeking terms of reference (ToR) of environmental impact assessment (EIA) to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate of India (MEFCI).
On October 26, 2016, MEFCI held an expert appraisal committee for an industry-2 meeting on the project.
Planning activities are underway.
