Duke-American Transmission Company (DATC) is planning to build a transmission line to connect Wyoming to California, via Colorado, Utah, Nevada in the US.
The project involves the construction of 500kv high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line of 845km or 1,368km. It includes the construction of substations and related infrastructure, the installation of transformers, power control units and transmission towers and the laying of transmission lines.
General Electric has been appointed as equipment supplier.
In May 2015, preliminary routing and pre-NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) work has completed.
Construction work is expected to complete in 2020.
The project involves the construction of an electric transmission line to connect Wyoming to California, via Colorado, Utah, Nevada in the US.
