Dangote Cement PLC (DANGCEM) through its subsidiary Dangote Industries (Zambia) Ltd is undertaking the construction of a cement manufacturing plant in Zambia.
The project involves the construction of a cement manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). It includes the construction of a grinding unit, a clinker unit, a warehouse, processing units and other related infrastructure, and the installation of related machinery, safety and security systems.
DANGOTE has secured license and environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the project.
On May 21, 2015, DANGCEM laid the foundation stone.
In August 2015, DANGCEM signed an agreement with Sinoma International Engineering Co.,Ltd (Sinoma) to undertake the construction works.
Construction activities on the project are underway and expected to be completed by 2019.
The project involves the construction of a cement plant with a production capacity of 1.5MTPA in Chilanga, Zambia.
