Coillte is undertaking the construction of Cullenagh Wind Farm project in County Laois, Ireland.

It includes the construction of a powerhouse, 38kV substation, access roads, and the installation of 18x2.5MW turbines with the height of 131.5m, and with a diameter of 93m, generators, transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.

On August 9, 2013, the planning application was submitted to Laois County Council. In October 2013, Laois County Council refused the planning application.
On October 29, 2013, Coillte appealed to An Bord Pleanala for the planning approvals refused by Laois County Council.
In June 2014, the project received planning approval from the Laois County Council.
On December 6, 2014, Expressions of interest (EOI) issued to supply the turbines for the proposed project with submission deadline as January 14, 2015.
On April 27, 2015, EOI was issued for electrical engineering installation works for a balance of plant with a submission date of May 30, 2015, and on June 12, 2015, EoI was issued for civil works for a balance of plant.
On July 6, 2016, EoI issued for grid connection works with a submission date of August 10, 2016.
In July 2016, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening completed and RPS concluded that a mandatory EIA was not required.
On September 09, 2016, Coillte applied for planning approval to lay an electric grid connection from Cullenagh mountain to the ESB substation in Portlaoise.
In December 2016, Planning Authority conditionally approved the plans.
Project is facing delay due to legal issues and expecting the decision in 2018.
