City of San Leandro (CoSL) and Cal-Coast Development (CCD) are planning to undertake the construction of the San Leandro Shoreline Mixed-Use Development project in Alameda County, California, the US.
The project involves the construction of mixed-use development on 30.3ha of land on San Francisco Bay.
The project includes a 200-room hotel, 1,393m2 conference center, three new restaurants, 13,935m2 office space, a community building and 400 residential units.
The development includes a small boat launch ramp, aquatic center, waterfront promenade with pedestrian piers, bike lanes, 575 parking space and amenities.
The project is being built under a public-private partnership (PPP) model between CoSL and CCD.
On October 15, 2012, CCD and CoSL presented a revised conceptual master plan with the tentative project schedule.
In August 2013, CoSL appointed the Planning Center DC&E as the environmental consultant.
On December 9, 2014, the draft environmental impact report (EIR) was opened for public review for a period of 60 days.
On July 20, 2015, on the basis of the final EIR and other required findings, the council adopted resolutions to amend the General Plan Land Use Designation and rezone a portion of the site.
The zoning and general plan process will involve Shoreline Advisory Group Community & BCDC Meetings, Planning Commission & City Council Work Session, Designs submission, Planning Commission & City Council Work Session, Planning Commission & City Council Public Hearing which will progress till the commencement of construction.
In April 2016, the project plan is under review by the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission.
As of December 2016, developers are working on receiving entitlements and permits.
